Rick, Grimes
PLAYED BY: Andrew Lincoln
THE CHARACTER
FULL NAME: Rick Grimes
NICK NAMES: None
PREFERRED NAME: Rick
AGE: 35
GENDER: Male
OCCUPATION: Sheriff Deputy
HOME REGION: Southeast
PREFERRED WEAPONS: Colt Python, Various melee weapons, Remington 700 VLS
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:
Rick is slightly tall, slim, and has a muscular like figure. Though from recent state of events, Rick has lost a pound or two from being in a coma for such a long time. Once he got himself out of the hospital and got his life slightly back together. (Putting aside losing his wife, son, and everyone around him that he loved.) He kept fit by staying active everyday. His eyes appear to be light blue, and they say you can tell ones emotion by looking into their eyes.
Even being out in the sun all day does no good for Rick Grimes. He woke up from a coma very pale-like, but once moving the gears again. His skin tone had returned to the normal Caucasian state it was in before. On his skin you would see some battle wounds before the apocalypse happened. These wounds were gained from his time as a Sheriff Deputy. Including the notorious bullet scar that had put him in the coma in the first place.
His clothing style stays quite the same throughout the hard times of this hard living life. For the moment he prefers to wear his signature Sheriff Deputy uniform. This uniform which he had worn before the apocalypse. Along with his brown cowboy-style sheriff's hat. This in which he wears constantly. (Apparel expected to change down the line.)
PERSONALITY: ideas to include aside from the usual... type of humor, personality flaws, mental health state, weaknesses, strengths, quirks, hopes and dreams, secrets...a paragraph at least.
LIKES
- His Sheriff Deputy badge. He admires what he once does, and now takes the time of the day to gaze upon his badge.
- Civility. Why not? Even through Hell's fire on this Earth. Rick does believe humans can still be civil if confronted the right way.
- Safe, solid, and secure housing. There's no point in living in a regular old house anymore.
- Taking time to see the world as it once was. Though there is little hope for it to return to a fully regular state as it once was. Rick Grimes has faith once this is all over, that his family and friends can finally be at peace once again.
- Safety. It's his first and furthermost number one priority. What's life in this modern day of zombie ass kicking without it?
DISLIKES
- Any panicking or chaos. It does you no good to panic, especially in these hard times.
- Liars/lies. It's better to come out with the truth, and not let it bundle up inside of you.
- Threats toward him or his family. Rick can become overly protective to a point where it doesn't matter what he does to keep himself or his family safe.
- Taking a leader role. Rick could not cope with himself if something were to happen to his wife, son, or anybody else that would place their trust in him to lead them to a better tomorrow. That's just that; there is a no "better tomorrow". Rick provides with whatever he can to survive on his own or at times in a group.
- Becoming drunk. He does not find it very productive to become intoxicated within this horrendous apocalypse.
HISTORY BEFORE: Before the world had turned into the wrenched world as we know it. Rick Grimes lived a full life with a loving and supporting family. His wife and his son. All lived together in Atlanta Georgia. It was peaceful for most of the days they had lived there. Putting aside the fact that Rick Grimes family had always worried about him. Reason being; he was a Sheriff Deputy. His work was quite the extraordinary job. Not knowing what would happened next. Especially when you were out on patrol, and you find someone pointing a pistol in-between your eyes.
Rick and his wife had their issues as many other families had. The main issue was the worrying of his own life. Rick took pride in what he did. Never, ever - has he taken for granted what he has today. You could say the family he has and the job he worked for is what drove him to the next level. His wife on the other hand, didn't like the idea of her and their son having to ask if daddy would be home for dinner. Rick's wife always questioned Rick of what would I have to tell their son if Rick had ever passed away when going to work. Throughout the several arguments of having Rick find a new job.
Rick decided to always stick by the first and only job he had. Plus, Rick knew that even if something were to happen. He had his best friend with him on duty most of the time. Rick's best friend was always the friend that every person always should have. Through thick and thin, his best friend was there for Rick no matter what the scenario happened to be. Both Rick's best friend and Rick would take a bullet for each other. That's how much the trust bond between the two had grown. If you were to walk in the face of death with an untrustworthy man... How exactly stupid would you feel?
The disputes between his wife and himself had later ended. The discussion of whether or not Rick would go job hunting was final. He would stay as the Sheriff Deputy, but had promised his wife and son that he will always be there for them, no matter what. But this time around that promised had been twisted into a very sick scene. Days late after had making said promise. Rick went out that day on an unexpected care chase, which later turned into a gun fight. After the car had flipped several times, a few passengers escaped the crash. Unknowingly, Rick took shots in the dark so to say.
The men were protected by the flipped over car. Without a second chance to blink - Rick was shot. A bullet, piercing through his flesh and skin nearly striking his heart. Rick was out cold, and his best friend however "avenged" him by shooting the man who shot Rick, and killing him. Moments later, Rick found himself with blurred vision staring up at a hospital ceiling. He wasn't sure if he was dead or alive until he had taken one last look at his best friend by his side walking by the medical bed. The surgeons had to keep him away in order to operate on Rick. Rick's operation wasn't all successful you could say, because he was left in a coma. And a coma in which he had stayed in slumber until the day he woke up in the zombie apocalypse.
