Alice smiled, this was her calling, this was where she was supposed to be. educating and spreading knowledge to those who would learn the truth. to experience the pleasure that came from expanding the minds of the youths of today. that was what she was chosen for. this was her purpose as an avatar of the Goddess.
"okay class, everyone take your seats, class is in session. i said EVERYONE take your seats!" Alice had to resort to yelling at the end to be heard over the sound of twenty or so young teenagers, all bright eyed and and excitable. whispering and in some cases openly talking to their-
there was no kids there. the desks were mostly broken and overturned, blood smeared across a good amount of them, dried and flaking. the windows were smashed letting in the rain that caused an ever spreading amount of damp moss to spread across the walls and floors.
pain speared through Alice's head as the headaches started again, she grunted out a choked yell of pain and clutched at her ears as she waited for the children to stop laughing at her. but they weren't there, she was remembering the way that.... was it memories? or was she thinking it up on the spot? had there ever been a point where she had been a child? or had she always been this age? Alice couldn't be positive and....
"NO!" Alice turned to the chalk board and slammed her fist against it in rage. "No. not slipping. can't slip. been doing well for ages. I'm fine. fine." She whispered, repeating insurances to herself in a mantra until she felt able to focus again. tears stung her eyes as she became aware of herself. damn, and it had been so long since she had started seeing things.
she was here to look for food. or anything else of use to her. she wasn't here for anything else. she had gone into the class room to search it. not rant to the empty space.
her headache was retreating to just a dull burning in the back of her mind as she staggered forwards, shoving one of the desks out of her way and letting it clatter loudly against the others as she went to the supply closet.
the hinges were rusted over completely, and Alice resigned herself to an annoying task as she started to look for a way to get into it.
