Mean, Stupid, Men - subplot

[Jalen Steele]

"Are you out of your mind?! What do you mean we should start collecting clothes to burn in case the power goes out?! Do you know what store you're in?! Go down to a JC Pennys if you're going to start burning clothes but not one of these boutiques and certainly not any shoes?!" Jalen turned around and stared at Jake. Her face was a mask of fury. Her eyes narrowed and her voice went very, very soft. "Did you say we should burn shoes, darling?" Jake was smart and didn't say anything. Aaaaaaaand that was when she laid into him.

By the time Jalen was done she didn't remember what she had told him, but she stormed out of the store and her heels were clicking on the tile floor behind her. She wasn't sure where she had gone and it didn't matter. Right at this moment she was so angry at Jake she would have shot him in the face. So she had to get out of there. Killing the dead was one thing, but killing the living. She couldn't do that. Plus she actually kinda still liked him -NO! She had to focus. He wanted to burn clothes and shoes. That was just unacceptable.

Jalen could hear arguing ahead and she stopped more curious than anything. It seemed another guy was being another butt. Jalen growled. Freaking men! Seriously! Why couldn't they be smart about it. Jalen sat down at a fountain and reached in the water grabbing a handful of pennies. She began tossing them hard into the water feeling slightly better as she did thus. Jalen could hear the end of the argument concluding and sure enough out walked a female. Jalen thought she had seen her around earlier, but couldn't for the life of her remember the girl's name.

"Men right? Can't live with them and can't kill them without other people getting all freaked out and shit." Jalen threw another penny into the water. "I'm Jalen, by the way," she said as introduction unbeknownst to her that she was sitting right next to one of her CoverGirl ads. Her face blown up to fit the ad and her lips were in a bright red hue. Yes, Jalen was the supermodel Jalen Steele, though that life didn't matter anymore.

"Wanna talk about what happened and then I can tell you what a dumbass mine was?"

[Kaci Denvers]

She stared at the man in front of her, blue eyes wide and filled with annoyance. Licking her lips she furrowed her brow slightly almost as if she were struggling to understand what he was saying to her, which in a way she really was, because there was no way he was telling her what she thought he was telling her. She opened her mouth to reply to him but promptly closed it again, she couldn’t actually trust herself to speak right now because if her anger was anything to go by she was pissed, uber fucking pissed. She took a step away from him, holding up her hand in case he had a wise idea of getting any closer to her. One thing Kaci was known for it was her temper, just another thing that scared the living daylights out of her. Once upon a time she had been terrified of finding the right guy and having children and turning into her father. Didn’t matter now though did it, end of the world but a damper on things like that. She really liked Aaron though, but when she got pissed, god if it didn’t send her right back to her childhood.

“Are we forgetting im a Detective, this is my job, protecting people, which means I think I’m qualified to defend myself out there, and if you for one second think your leaving me behind you’re a damn idiot” Shaking her head she started pacing before stopping and looking at him. “I am leaving with, or without you. I’d rather it be with you but that’s your call” Stepping away from him she held up a hand signalling if he was smart he was staying there until he had the answer she wanted to hear from him. What was it with men and pulling the ‘I need to protect you crap’ she had lasted this long, alone hadn’t she.

Shaking her head she stormed out of the area they were in and into the open space. A soft plop, plop noise touched her ears and she tilted her head to the side, following the sound. Another woman who looked equally as pissed of as she did. “Aint it a bitch” She muttered with a shake of he rhead and moving over towards her. “Im Kaci” She stated gently while lowering herself down on the edge of the fountain, her hand lowering to pick up the magazine cover her brow raising as she looked over at the woman at her side. “How life changes huh” Shaking her head she lowered the magazine down to the side of her and turned her blue hues over towards the female at her side.

“He got all macho on me” A scoff fell from her lips “Like I haven’t survived this long alone, and now he’s all your staying here” Her fingers rolled into tight fists and then realised then rolled into tight fists once more. Why did men do that? Why did they have to go all macho when things had been going so well. Kaci had never once in her life made a connection with someone, not really, and now she had met Aaron and that had changed and he had to go and ruin that moment. Huffing out she turned her gaze over towards Jalen.

“So what did your guy do?”

Aaron and Kaci had been arguing about going out on a supply run, and he didn't want her going with him and end up getting bitten or something like that. Not that he didn't think she was capable of defending herself, he knew she could he had seen it first hand, but now it was different. They were together and he didn't want to lose the only thing in the world he cared about. It's not that he thought himself more capable than her, it was the fact that he didn't want to see any kind of harm come to her, no matter how minuscule, even if it was a skinned knee he felt that he would freak out. He didn't know, maybe he was just overreacting.

"Look I'm not saying you can't handle yourself, what I'm saying is that I care about you and I don't want you to get hurt. I don't think your helpless, I just don't think I could forgive myself if something happened to you while you were with me, I care about you." Aaron lowered his head and sighed as she walked out of the room, he hoped Kaci didn't go out there alone, it wasn't safe. Though as he thought about it he realized it wasn't any safer for him out there then it was for her, or well he did have the upper hand seeing as he had the training of the most elite soldier in the world; though that didn't really matter now because there was no world.

He figured it would be a good idea just to leave her alone, there was really no point in continuing the argument; Kaci was stubborn and with her there really was no winning, not that it was a contest in the first place. He decided to just get ready to head out.

Jalen's outifit -The one in the middle with black on shoulders and arms.

Jalen couldn't agree more with the girls words about men. She nodded as Kaci introduced herself and chucked another penny into the fountain. Damn men; evil, freaking, stupid men. Jalen glanced at the magazine seeing her face and shrugging at the comment. "Still seems the same dog eat dog world to me except this time I know who trying to kill me." Jalen gave a small mean chuckle as she threw another penny so hard it skipped before plopping into the water. Okay. So she was still a little angry at Jake; stupid, mean, ole Jake.

"Seriously?! He did not pull the little woman thing on you." Jalen shook her head. "We, women can fight just as well as they can if not better," This was more Jay talking than Jalen as her voice went a touch cold. "That wanting to protect thing is bullshit. When they leave you at home you worry if they are dead and never coming back and then when you go with them you end up saving their ass. Do they remember that?! No! Stupid, freaking men." Jalen chucked another penny and this time it missed the water completely and just hit the end of the fountain with a small clink.

"Mine. Oh mine is a complete - GRRRR!" Jalen had to calm down. Just thinking about it made her so angry. "The buffoon wants to stockpile clothes and shoes. He thinks that if we run out the generator, which he thinks will happen with all the electricity and stuff we're using, we can burn the clothes and shoes for light and to stay warm! Can you believe that?!" Jalen shook her head hard. She saw the expression on Kaci's face and misinterpret it. "I know right. He wants to burn the Armani and Gucci and Dolche because no one is going to wear that stuff in this world. Are you kidding me? Those are works of art that one can wear and you want to BURN it!"

Jalen was so livid she stood up and chucked the rest of the pennies into the water. "Do you see these shoes." She lifted up her foot to show a pair of rhinestone studded heels. "A $1000 for just this pair and I own them in black and red too. Not to mention some of my great outfits. Like this one. You don't just burn these, because you have no style. Oh yes heels might seem like no common sense when running but think of it like running on blades. I curb stomped a zombie in heels. Well boots, but they were lethal heels too. My point is you don't burn works of art ever. Whether they are books, movies, paintings or shoes and clothes. You just don't burn them!"

[Kaci Denvers]

Kaci nodded her head, she was glad she had found a fellow woman who agreed with her. “What’s worse, he knows I’m capable of taking care of myself, I was a detective before all this happened” She shrugged a shoulder, and not only that but she had lasted this long, alone, she had helped him survive, and now, now he was pulling the whole I don’t want you to get hurt crap. Was he seriously that idiotic, to think that it would fly with her. To think that she didn’t worry every time he went out on scavenger hunts, he needed her out there just as much as she needed him. They could protect each other, look after each other, why couldn’t he see that. Every time he went out she was worried sick, a feeling she didn’t enjoy one bit, and now he was all high and mighty.

Her blue eyes watched as the woman continued throwing pennies into the fountain, most of them hitting the bottom straight away, some skimming the surface before sinking beneath its depths. Shaking her head slightly she chuckled, expecting much of the same out of the female beside her. Only she didn’t, in fact it was nothing like it. Listening to the woman ranting on her head tipped to the side, her brow creasing ever so slightly, okay maybe the outfit she was wearing would have been a dead give away about what type of woman she was. She was dressed far more proactively then Kaci was. Kaci having opted for combat boots, jeans and currently a hoody which covered the weapon concealed at her back.

“You paid over a $1000 for those shoes?” she questioned having focused on that bit of information, she hardly paid that for a complete outfit. Shaking her head slightly she looked around, her gaze shifting back over towards her. She was more than sure this woman wanted her to agree with her, to continue bashing the male race, but she had lost the edge now. She knew sooner or later Aaron would come around and see her side of things. Tilting her head to the side she shook her head, “Maybe they could use the cheaper stores for now” She muttered shrugging a shoulder. Honestly she didn’t care what store they used, because well it was a survival thing, they needed to survive didn’t they, and if they meant burning clothing that was stupidly priced then so be it.

“Sooner or later though we’re gonna have to start burning them” She shrugged a shoulder. “Either that or die right” Kaci turned over towards her, hoping she would get Jalen on side, but honestly Kaci had a feeling she wasn’t even going to. Shaking her head she simply smiled at her instead, smiling was good right. “Or we could, I dunno, lay of the power we’re using, that way it wont go out any time soon”

Jalen merely shrugged her shoulders when Kaci exclaimed about the price of her shoes. When you wanted the best and you wanted it first you had to pay for the best. Besides $1000 was no where near the most she had ever paid for shoes and no where near the most she had paid on a dress that wasn't a wedding gown. Besides in her old life if she had purchased $100 shoes she would have been asked if she was having money problems or even ostracized. Maybe it might have been a little extreme for someone who's means weren't as high as hers, but that didn't change the fact that you don't burn art.

"I guess if we had to burn clothes we could use the cheaper stores, but what would the rest of you ... errr them wear?" Jalen glanced at Kaci's attire wondering if anything she was wearing was name brand. She assumed not and didn't want to be rude. Jalen might be a bit of a brat, but she wasn't rude or uppity. Not that she thought she was. "Plus, I guess I could find a pair of jeans to wear. Something was brought up about my attire, but that subject was drop quickly." Jalen sniffed, but admitted she had brought more dresses and skirts than pants.

You think? How am I supposed to kick zombie ass in a skirt, Jalen. Seriously. It's a wonder Jake hasn't choked you. I would have.

Shut up Jay. Dresses and skirts make me feel pretty.

Seriously? Seriously? We're in the middle of a war zone and you want to feel pretty.

"Oh my God!" Jalen froze. Holy crap did she say that outloud. She stared at Kaci. She started stuttering, but couldn't come up with anything to explain her outburst. She didn't want Kaci to think she was crazy. "I mean we can burn anything else or like you said use less power. Like have power grids of when things will be off for a few hours or something. If we start burning clothes and shoes than what? When will we stop? Please, I need you to understand."

No one understands.

Jalen felt herself near tears. Jay was driving her crazy. She wasn't sure she could carry on both conversations at once and she didn't want to lose a female friend. She missed female friends. They understood you better than any guy ever could. Plus the shopping, gossiping, and everything was just better; more fun. "I'm sorry. You wanna go over to the ..." Jalen almost said the Armani store, but decided that the way Kaci looked, acted, and she even said she was a detective so she might prefer the ..."gun shoppe and see about weapons and stuff?"

[Kaci Denvers]

Kaci rose a brow as she looked at Jalen her head tilting to the side, “Well im pretty sure they can raid what they want before burning it” It wasn’t like they were going to be running around with bags and bags filled with clothes, that was just stupid and impractical. No, they would have a bag, and only one bag, it was filled with supplies and clothing and nothing more. If any of them thought this shopping centre was a safe place to stay they were stupid, it wasn’t going to last. It was to open, it wasn’t safe enough. Letting out a breath she tugged the sleeves of her hoody down further of her arms, keeping the warmth in as much as she could. It was far to cold within this place and it was only going to get worse once the electricity went out, which if they continued using the power the way they were it would happen a hell of a lot sooner.

Giving Jalen a once over again Kaci nodded her head “Those boots might be practical, but honey that skirt really isn’t, and neither is that top, not once the cold kicks in” It was the end of the world who in god’s name wore what Jalen was wearing. Shaking her head she laughed to herself, brow furrowing as the woman in front of her got talking once more. Looking over her shoulder to see if someone was coming up to them she returned her blue hues, filled with confusion to the woman before her. “Er?” She muttered not entirely sure what to think of the situation at hand. It was more than clear that Jalen wasn’t talking to her, and by the looks of it no one else, which meant she was talking to herself.

Smiling as not to make her feel any more embarrassed than she clearly was she nodded her head “We should bring it up to everyone. Might draw less attraction as well” She stated gently. So the woman she was sat in front of was a little crazy, world was ending, Jalen wanted to sit and talk to herself to justify why she was wearing $1000’s worth of clothing that was fine by Kaci, she wasn’t about to sit and argue with her. “Well we’d stop once everything was burnt. I mean I suppose we could go out and scavenge for wood, but it would be too risky” She let out a breath, honestly the sooner she could get out of this place the better.

“Jalen are you okay?” She questioned genuinely concerned for the woman opposite her. She knew what stress could do to a person, she had witnessed it first hand, it messed with your mind, made you think things were real when they weren’t it turned your whole life upside down. Nodding her head she pushed herself up from the fountain.

“How about we go find you something else to wear, I think theres a store around here you’d like” She shrugged a shoulder honestly she had no idea what the hell stores she liked other than they were expensive, and she had no idea what the expensive designer shit was, other than the fact she couldn’t afford it. “Might even convince me to have some of those snazzy boots” She laughed slightly gesturing over her shoulder as she started walking in the direction of the stores. Drawing out her gun, the one that Aaron had thankfully given her, and moved towards one of the stores. She knew everything had already been checked over but didn’t hurt to be careful. Pushing open the door she stepped inside, god if she had only ever afford this stuff in this shop. Looking over her shoulder to Jalen she smiled.

She had a pair of jeans in her hands moments later “How about these?”

Jalen glanced down at her attire. Okay, so maybe Jake had a good point especially when Kaci confirmed it, but she looked pretty. Jalen sucked in a deep breath effectively cutting Jay off before she started on that pretty crap again. It helped self esteem to look good. Besides, she needed all the self esteem she could handle; it wasn't like she was good in a fight.

Jalen had to admit Jay was right, but Jalen wasn't. Hell, if she didn't have Jay in her she would have died a long time ago. Well, Jay and Trust kept her alive. Jalen sighed. Damn she was losing it. She had lost her focus and her mind was rambling on it's own again. She wished she had her meds so she could focus more. Jalen stared at Kaci trying to figure out what she might have missed and if she could continue the conversation as if she hadn't missed anything.

Jalen smiled. She wanted to go shopping and was heading for the Alexander McQueen store. Jalen was almost too giddy. She loved shopping and it was clothes shopping for free. Yes. Life was getting good.

Jalen didn't take out her gun. It was tucked into the back of her skirt and since Kaci had hers and she was a detective meant she was probably a better shot, so there was no need for Jalen to take out hers. Plus she almost forgot she had it. Jalen was over by the shoes almost drooling at all the pretties. She felt Jay roll her eyes, but she didn't care. This was her expertise. Jalen glanced over at Kaci and sized her shoes. She was wearing boots so it was difficult to get an exact read on her shoe size, but there was a pair of over the knee boots that were a rick brown leather that felt more like silk than the sticky fake leather most people were used to. The heel wasn't thin, but thick which made sure it wouldn't break easily. The back of the boot had small hoops going up the back of the heel to the back of the knee.

Jalen glanced over at Kaci and walked up to her with the boots. "How good are you with knives, cuz ...." Jalen produced the boots. "I think these boots might fit and they look cuter than the ones you're wearing. Which kinda look like men boots plus if you are good with knives you can holster a few in these hoops in the back and if you need to get to the knives quickly simply get down on knee or reach down and boom 4 or 5 knives at your disposal." Jalen's eyes widened and she was practically jumping up and down. "OH MY GAWD!!! Do you know how bad ass you would look with knives hanging off the back of your boots. That's pretty fucking cool!"

Not a bad idea. Maybe we should do that.

Jalen looked at the jeans in Kaci's hands and switched the boots for the jeans. "Not bad. My size too. How'd you know? They don't feel too bad." Jalen put her booted foot through the jeans and stepped into them pulling them up under her skirt. Once the jeans were on she shimmied out of her skirt and buttoned up the jeans. They felt like her legs were ... well covered. She wore pants before, but it had been so long since she wore jeans it just felt odd. The jeans also came slightly past her boots.

"No one can see my pretty boots." Jalen pouted until she realized she could just stuff the excess jeans into the boots. Jalen walked over to the mirror and had to admit she liked the way her bum looked in the jeans and the material clung to her thighs and legs in a very nice way. Than it was like her boots was an explosion of sexiness. "OH My GAWD! I love it. Look at how good my boots look with a pair of jeans. And my shirt looks almost provocative with the jeans covering up so much skin. Maybe I should get a different shirt too."

Jalen glanced back at Kaci for confirmation.

(((By the way. Jalen and Jay are speaking to each other in Jalen's head. She's not speaking out loud.)))

[Kaci Denvers]

Kaci looked over her shoulder at Jalen raising her brow ever so slightly, the boots weren’t her thing, at all. She was more for practical and everything, and there was far too much metal for her liking. Smiling at her though she nodded her head, “Im pretty good” She stated. She didn’t want to hurt Jalens feelings by telling her she didn’t like them, and was more than comfortable with the boots she had on at the moment, but Jalen had been kind to her, so she was just going to lie and say she liked them. Chuckling ever so slightly Kaci nodded her head, “That actually sounds practical” She stated. So maybe the whole metal thing would come in handy. Taking the boots from Jalen, while she took the jeans fro her own hands she continued to eye the boots. They really weren’t her type of boots, but Jalen did have a point and they would make a very good holster for her weapons.

“You look a little bit smaller than me, kinda guessed” She stated with a small shrug of her shoulders. She was a woman after all so guessing the size of another woman wasn’t that hard. Okay so Jalen had tried on her jeans she might as well do the full thing with the boots. Bending down she slipped out of the boots she was currently wearing and slipped into the boots that Jalen had given her. “They looked kinda cool” She muttered using a rail of cloths to keep her steady as she readjusted to the height. She had worn heals once or twice in her life. She wasn’t used to them, and preferred trainers and flat boots than the heels she was currently wearing. Shrugging her shoulder though she moved over towards the mirror looking at her reflection.

“these look pretty amazing Jalen, thank you” She stated. Raising a brow slightly she looked the other woman up and down before slowly looking around the store once more. Heaving in a deep breath she quickly, well okay she moved slowly over the store. Finally finding what she was looking for she looked through the variety of colours before finally deciding on grabbing a couple of different colours. One in pink, one in red and then one in purple, she figured she’d go for either Red or pink, but the purple was actually kind cute so she would grab that for herself in Jalen didn’t want it.

“Fitted shirt” She stated handing her over the different colours “It will really finish your outfit, practical and yet sexy” She stated with a smile. “Gives you a little more protection from the elements as well” Shrugging a shoulder ever so slightly she rested her hip against one of the rails looking over her shoulder to ensure that nothing was sneaking up on them.

Jalen smiled liking the way she looked. She was already walking around the store and acquiring a few "necessities" that she just had to have. She could imagine Jake's face when he saw she had more clothes, except these were as practical as she could get. They were at least jeans,long sleeve shirts, and other clothing that didn't show so much skin. Like she would ever be in a fight with a zombie. Jalen could feel Jay huffing in her head. Okay, so Jay might go head to head with a zombie, but Jalen wouldn't and if Jay insisted on fighting the undead dead than she would have to be careful not to get touched. Jalen could feel Jay bristling and new an argument was about to happen. She was relieved with Kaci interrupted her thoughts.

"You do like them? I wasn't sure if you did when you took them." Jalen was a girl and she could recognize the unsure signs in another woman's face, but she liked that Kaci tried something new. Maybe Jalen could keep this going. She was dying to get Kaci into a dress, but wasn't sure if today was going to be the day. Jalen didn't know Kaci, but the little bit she was acting it would be a cold day in hell before she wore a dress like the one Jalen had in mind ... or a really hot day. Jalen was watching Kaci. She was good looking, gorgeous if you looked past the clothes that hung just a bit. If her clothes were spandex or had any sort of tightness to it and Kaci would be fighting off the lone men in this mall. Hell, she probably was already; what with the glossy hair and those eyes. Jalen would have done her damndest to recruit Kaci into the modeling world back in the day. She had that sexy dark edge that would make her fortunes.

Jalen blinked as Kaci came towards her. Damn her mind again. Kaci was holding out shirts towards her and Jalen grabbed them realizing Kaci was trying to help her find a shirt. "Um, thank you." The fitted shirt looked cute and purple was Jalen's favorite color so she took the purple one and exchanged it with the current shirt she was wearing. Jalen nodded, but it was so plain. Jalen replaced her shirt over the purple and liked the edge that her combo made. She nodded. "This will do."

"I was thinking that maybe, for you, you'll like that over that. If you ever want to wear different boots." Jalen pointed over her shoulder at a $10,000 jacket. The jacket sleeves would go past the finger tips, but had buttons and a strap could be used to roll the sleeves up to the elbow. The hem of the jacket trailed on the ground slightly and there were pockets everywhere inside and out; hidden pockets. Jalen had wanted that jacket when she was in Hong Kong, but was unable to get one. Whereas Jalen had wanted it for looks and the ability to not have to carry a purse (the whole ad for the jacket) she realized Kaci could probably use the jacket for more than just a fashion accessory.

[Kaci Denvers]

Kaci eyed the shoes once more that were on her feet. They were practical in only one way, they were customed to hold the knives that she had managed to gather, the only problem was they were loud, and it was difficult to be quiet in heals, maybe she could something about that? Custom them even more so that they were silent, than maybe she would like them even more. “They’ll take some getting used to” She admitted with a smile, might as well tell Jalen some of the truth right. Kaci eyed Jalen for a moment, the other woman was staring and that made her instantly uncomfortable, shifting on the heals she rose a brow, wondering what Aaron would think of the shoes she was currently wearing. The two of them didn’t know each other much but she was sure he’d know heals like the ones she was wearing wasn’t exactly the type of shoe she would normally wear.

“Why are you staring at me like that?” She questioned with a raise of her brow. If she could see in the mirror she would be looking herself in the mirror once more trying to figure out if she had something on her face, or if her hair was out of whack. Kaci wasn’t one for looks really, she wore what was comfortable sure, but she also liked looking good, her hair was always perfect. But she wasn’t in direct line of the mirror and she didn’t want to show Jalen her staring was getting to her.

So Jalen had gone for the purple just the one that Kaci had her eyes on “Looks good on you” She stated when she had it on, but it didn’t stay that way for long. Jalen quickly put her previous top on top and Kaci had to admit it looked good. “You have an eye for fashion” She stated with a bright smile. Sometimes Kaci could have done with a woman like her that was for sure.

Her gaze shifted over her shoulder and over towards the jacket. Raising a brow she quickly shook her head, “Er yea, not my thing” She stated with a shake of her head as she went over it. Pockets everywhere so sure it was something she could do with. It was practical and just like the boots she was wearing, not practical. It was too long, posing danger if she needed to move quickly, yet it looked warm, which would be good for the winter days. Frowning ever so slightly she looked around, finding a similar jacket, only shorter, coming just to the waist. Pulling it of the hanger she nodded her head, pulling it on over her hoody and fastening it up. “Much better” She stated with a smile as she looked over at Jalen.

“How bout you get that one?” She stated gesturing to the jacket that Jalen had wanted her to take.

Jalen smiled at Kaci. The woman was friendly enough and it had been so long since she had a female friend. Plus, this was fun. Shopping. Jalen was so excited. She loved shopping and the best part it was totally free! FREE! Which meant Jalen didn't have to worry about maxing out her credit card (again). Well, there was one problem and that was deciding which cute outfit to wear. Jalen started laughing as she felt more than heard Jay give an exasperated sigh. This was good stuff. Jalen caught herself and looked around realizing that Kaci wasn't even near her. She was over by the jacket. Would she notice that she just had laughed outloud?

Jalen tried to remember the last thing she heard Kaci say. She cleared her throat as if she meant to have laugh. "Well, I was a model and had wanted to start my own fashion agency. I should have a good eye. Sorry I laughed. I errr remember when I was younger and all I wanted to wear was bright purple shirts with matching lime green pants. "Speaking of eyes for fashion the short jacket suits you. You know what might also suit you. A killer dress. In firetruck red to bring out those auburn highlights in your hair. I'm just saying." Jalen was trying to be casual hoping against all hope she'll say yes. "It'll make a fun date. I mean while we're holed up here we should have some sort of fun and what could be more fun than watching .... errr your fellow's eyes watching your every move in a dress that has him drooling for more? Just sayin'."

Jalen slowly reached out to the jacket that Kaci had declined. Jalen couldn't believe she was finally going to get her jacket. Her hands gently touched it and she almost moaned at the softness of it. Her fingers grazed over the delicate stitches and her eyes were open with rapt awe. "And we want to burn this? Seriously?!" She slowly put her arms through the sleeves and buttoned the jacket up loving the way the bodice of the jacket tucked in and then flared out around her. The front of the jacket stopping at her waist so that the back of the jacket drifted around her. "I'm so pretty. So so pretty ..." Jalen sang as she twirled in delight.

"Best day ever!" Jalen had 3 of those shopping hand held carry thingies in full of 'practical' clothes. She did realize that when it was time to leave she would have to sort through her clothes and shoes choosing which ones to take with her. She had already added 2 pair of designer tennis shoes, but even she felt she could cut through the cloth on the shoes and would prefer her boots. She just wanted to throw her 'practical' looks at Jake. Jalen started to scowl. The man would have totally burned this gorgeous jacket. And these jeans. Hell, even this pretty sweet new purple shirt. Men!

She was laughing, Kaci rose a brow, she wasn’t too sure what she had said that was funny, In fact she hadn’t thought she had said something funny. Furrowing her brow ever so slightly Kaci continued to look at Jalen, thankful for the quick explanation. “Must have been nice” She stated with a smile. Kaci had often wished she was in a higher paying job. She had enjoyed her job though, crappy pay, high risk, but still it was good, and she would never change it. “Im glad your fashion sense has improved” She laughed as she slipped on the shorter jacket. She had to admit, it felt a hell of a lot nicer than the cheaper versions you could get.

Attention snapped over towards Jalen with a raise of her brow, “It’s the end of the world and you want me in a dress” She laughed shaking her head ever so slightly. She couldn’t remember the last time she had been in a dress, it was surely years ago. She wasn’t a complete tom boy, she enjoyed dressing up and looking nice, but she just preferred the comfort of jeans, or leggings to the revealing dresses. “Im pretty sure I have his eye no matter what I wear” She commented with a shrug of her shoulders. It was a thought though, a nice dress, they were somewhat safe where they were, and if push came to shove it wouldn’t be a far fetched idea to run in a dress and heals, she had done it before.

“You might wanna er cut back a bit” Kaci commented with a shrug of her shoulder, “Gonna be hard carrying all those” licking her lips she let out a deep breath “Go for two pairs of jeans, the rest tops” She stated, tops tended to be lighter and therefor easier to carry in your back pack. Bending down she slipped out of the shoes, rubbing her feet before slipping back into her own boots.

“God how do you people do it, my feet area already killing me” She muttered with a shake of her head. Easing down onto one of the foot stool things she looked over at Jalen. “So how did you and” She shrugged a shoulder, wow she had no idea what the guys name was. “How did you guys meet?” She questioned with a raise of her brow.
