PERSONALITY:
Nerd: Calvin not only dresses like a nerd, but is one at heart. He is completely obsessed with technology and creating or fixing things. He loves trying to figure things out and doing different puzzles or problems. Because of his love for these problems he is constantly looking for ways to challenge himself and to become smarter and figure out more of the world. On top of that he loves to collect things, from action figures to models, to puzzles. He has always had a habit of collecting things in general.
Sweetheart: Calvin grew up a very emotional kid. He found himself quickly getting attached to things, even the most simple things. Starting with his blanky, his parents, then his friends and toys. He found himself caring a lot for everyone and everything. He would even cry if his stuff animal got a rip, not because he lost his toy, but because he thought his 'friend' was hurting. As Calvin grew older he developed these feelings towards actual people. This caused other kids to push away from him, intimidated but his emotional attachment and would quickly begin to pick on him.
Happy, or lonely?: Because of the ways that the other kids picked on him he began to think of himself as unlovable. That there was something wrong with him. He couldn't understand why he cared so much for people, but they pushed him away. He felt like he just couldn't get things right. He never wanted to show others how lonely he felt on the inside, so he would always wear a smile, putting other first and always looking for ways to care for people. Even if they were mean to him.
Father's boy: Because of his lack of friend he quickly began to cling to his father. His father began to become the most important person in his life. Always looking for ways to hang out with his father. His father welcomed him with open arms. But his father was always super busy with work. So Calvin began to go to work with his father, watching him and learning from him. Once he was old enough he began to actually help his father, around the mall, with different security things and fixing different electricity problems.
Awkward......: Calvin is simply awkward. He doesn't know how to keep a conversation going, he doesn't know how to talk to people. He doesn't even know what to do with his body when he is around others. He begins to stumble on his words and worry about how he looks to them, often times to make himself look cool but acting even more awkward. But the major point is girls. No matter who the girl is, he will instantly shut down if he is met face to face with them. He doesn't know how to handle them and will usually be caught constantly blushing around them.

HISTORY BEFORE: Calvin was born in West St. Paul Minnesota In Dec. on a very cold winter. His parents were both very loving and devoted all their time to him. As Calvin grew up he was home schooled, his mother teaching him while his father went to work at the largest mall in america, "The Mall of America". Calvin's father, Calvin Sr. Was the head of security, working all of the security measures to make sure everything was going as it should. As Calvin grew up sometimes in place of school he was allowed to go to work with his father and watch him. At an early age Calvin fell in love with technology and the work his father did. Trying to learn as he watched his father. At home he excelled in school. Quickly learning most things his mother threw at him.
Like most home schooled students Calvin had a hard time making friends, but even when all the home schoolers in the area would cgather together for trips and stuff he still never really fit in. He was nice to everyone but often times the others already had their clicks and stuck to them. Calvin simply smiled on, acting as if he didn't even notice. He treated everyone he saw with compassion and love, even if he was often times shut down and left alone. Especially if someone else was in some kind of problem Calvin would often times come in to help them. But after would still find himself alone.
Calvin was the boy who would go to his grandmother's house to help move stuff, go to the neighbors house and do their lawn. He was constantly trying to help others. He never accepted pay and was always just looking to make others smile. He was just a kid at heart. All he wanted to do was make others smile.
As Calvin grew older he continued to go to work with his father, watching his father working security of the mall of America. He very quickly picked up on how to work everything and quickly, unofficially became his father's assistant. Coming to work with him and helping his father run security, fix any electrical malfunctions. Just about anything and everything that dealt with the security of the mall.
When Calvin wasn't at the mall he spent time at the junk yard, collecting broken things and fixing them until they were in working or even better condition than they were originally. Calvin began to focus on his relationship with his dad, rather than trying to make friends. But he was always kind and wore a smile
DURING APOCALYPSE: It was an average day. Calvin woke up early and got ready to go to work with his dad, but even the air of the day seemed....off. As Calvin got ready and went down stairs his mother and father were staring at the television. there was story after story off some kind of epidemic going around, for everyone to stay inside and lock themselves inside. But no real details were given.
Calvin asked his father what was going to happen but there was a sudden shatter. Calvin and his father ran into the kitchen where someone was trying to crawl into their window. Calvin's father began to scream at the man, telling him to get out or he would defend the house. The man only grumbled in reply and crawled into the kitchen hitting the floor with blood splattering across the white tiles.
Calvin's father knelt down to see if the man was okay, with closer inspection he looked sick. Like he was dying actually. But as Calvin's father began to lift the man he bit his fathers arm, and not the kind of frisky bite. But took a large chunk out of his father arm. His father screamed and dropped the man, instantly kicking the man in the head. Calvin ran in, pulling his father away and covering the wound with a cloth. His mother ran into the kitchen and asked what was wrong, with horror in her eyes at the sight of the man and all the blood.
As his mother was tending the wound Calvin went to the man, checking to see if he was okay. But looking at the man, he thought it was impossible he was alive. He closed his eyes to grieve the man and got up to go get the phone to call the cops. But as he walked away there was a terrible crunch and his mother's scream.
As Calvin ran back into the room he looked at the horrible scene in his kitchen. His father was now laying at the floor trying to get to his wife, while the man who was supposed to be dead was clawing at her back while devouring her sides. Calvin backed away slowly, tears falling down his face, his breathing fogged his glasses quickly. In a fit of rage he ran in and grabbed a broom, slamming the man's head over and over again until he stopped moving. Once Calvin was down he looked down.
His mother, father and the intruder where all dead, laying in a puddle of blood. Calvin Pulled the bodies of his mother and father together and huddled over them. and began to weep. But Calvin wasn't given the time to mourn the loss of his parents. Because, well they weren't exactly dead. Or that's what he thought when his father began to move. Calvin was filled with excitement and joy. But as Clavin hugged his father, he noticed something was wrong. His body was stiff and cold. Calvin fell backwards in shock. And looking at his father, he felt like he was looking at someone totally different. Calving quickly stood up, pushing the man who was once his father back. His father hit his head on the counter and blood shatter across the kitchen and the body went limp. Calvin thought he just killed his father. He reached down, taking the glasses from his father's face and replacing his own. He then bent down, taking the button his mom always wore from her blouse. It was in the shape of a red rose. He pinned it to his shirt, looking down at the man. He felt bad, this man...he killed him. Reaching down he searched for the man's wallet, but there was none. So as a replacement Calvin grabbed a handkerchief from his back pocket which was surprisingly clean. He slipped it into his jean pocket and looked out the window.
What he saw next should have been more shocking. But Calvin's tear stained face remained blank as he stared out the broken window. People running around, screaming and eating each other. Calvin had read the comics and watched the movies. He knew what this was, there was only one explanation: Zombies.
Calvin quickly got the keys from drawer and got in his fatehrs car and drove, to the one place he thought was safe. The Mall.
Calvin has lived in the mall since then. Starting with making sure everything was locked on the outsides. He then locked himself in the security room and worked on fixing a radio to transmit a message. A message to let people know the Mall could be a safe haven. He rushed himself. The radio wasn't perfect, but he was able to get the message out. The mall was safe. And Now Calvin had to watch the cameras as he had to go from area to area and clear out the handful of zombies that were inside the mall.
