SCOTT MCCOY
PLAYED BY : Paul McGillion
THE CHARACTER
FULL NAME: Dr. Scott James McCoy
NICK NAMES: Doctor, Scotty.
PREFERRED NAME: Doctor McCoy.
AGE: 36
GENDER: Male
OCCUPATION: Doctor
HOME REGION: Northeast
PREFERRED WEAPONS: He carries a combat knife with him at all times.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Scott is 5 feet and 10 inches tall. His height and weight are average for a man his age. He is about as healthy as he can get as being a doctor he knows what he needs to do to stay healthy. He works out but not excessively, and his favorite thing to do while working out is running. Scott has blue eyes and brown hair and he usually has light facial hair. Scott does not have any tattoos or piercings because he does not like them.
PERSONALITY: Scott has a very mellow and easy-going personality. He does not anger easily, and is pretty shy. He loves to help people and as people say he ‘wears his heart on his sleeve’. He is not very social, but is always kind to people especially his patients. He gets along with pretty much everyone he meets. He prefers to be alone and when he is not working he is usually reading a book. He does not mind being around people, but he has never really been outgoing so he usually does not speak around a lot of people. Some people may call Scott a coward as he is not the type of person to take charge, and that is mostly true. He would rather let someone else handle any drastic situation. Even when it comes to working at the hospital, Scott will help whoever he can but if another doctor comes along and pushes him out of the way, Scott will just back off. He has never been a confrontational person.
Scott’s main strength is his brain. He is very smart especially when it comes to medical stuff, but as he reads a lot he is also book smart with a lot of stuff. His main weakness is how he lets everyone else take charge.

HISTORY BEFORE:
Scott comes from a wealthy family whose Scottish heritage goes back pretty far. So the Scottish surname McCoy, and their accent is pretty strong. He was born to Alice and William McCoy. He has a younger sister named Bonnie. Scott and his sister with their parents lived in the family house that had been owned by their family for generations. Scott and Bonnie both went to a private school that their parents and even grandparents had gone to. So Scott had a pretty normal Scottish childhood.
Scott had always been very smart as he always loved to read. He especially liked to read medical books. So when he had turned 19 he decided to have a career as a doctor. He moved out of the house and went to medical school. He got his own place not far from the hospital where he worked. Working to be a doctor was not easy, but Scott was very determined. He knew it was the career that he wanted.
After a few years Scott officially became a doctor and pretty much made his work his life. He had dated a few times but never found anyone he was really interested in. He always stayed in touch with his family, especially his sister who had also moved out of the house and was living on her own with her husband. So Scott had a pretty normal work life.
When Scott turned 34 his father died of a heart attack. Scott moved back to the family home to take care of his mother, while still working full hours at the hospital. Just a few months after Scott’s father died, his mother died. Scott continued staying at the family house though, and it legally became his since his parents were gone. The house was too big for one person, but Scott just did not have time to move as he was working all the time.
A year after his mom died the hospital Scott worked at began having money issues so they had to let some of the doctors go. Other hospitals in Scotland, and America began offering jobs to the doctors who needed it. Scott could have stayed in Scotland, but his sister currently lived in America with her husband and their kids so Scott decided to take America up on their offer.
DURING APOCALYPSE:
Scott had just gotten home from work when the phone rang. He had only had enough time to take off his jacket and toss his keys on the counter. He was not happy when he answered the phone and was told to come back to the hospital. Even though Scott was very tired, he did not argue. He knew how hard being a doctor would be. He had gotten used to working all the time as it was pretty much his life.
He had moved to America to be near his sister, but even though he had been able to talk to her on the phone a few times he had not actually been able to see her. He always told himself he would take time off of work to go see her, but he never got the chance. And now he had to go back into work after just getting home from work. Scott sighed, but that was all he did. He did not cuss, or yell. He just sighed. He grabbed his keys and put his jacket back on and headed out the door.
Scott did not notice anything unusual going on outside. It was pretty quiet, but it was not unusual for it to be quiet out, so Scott thought nothing of it. When he got into the hospital though, it was anything but quiet. Doctors and nurses were running around everywhere, and there were more patients standing around, some holding their bleeding heads, others with bleeding arms or legs. That was just in the waiting room. In the actual trauma rooms there were screaming family members, doctors and nurses yelling and grabbing medical supplies, and in each trauma room there was a patient that was covered in blood.
The trauma room that Scott picked had only a nurse and a patient in it. The patient, an older man, was lying on the bed. Scott did not even have to ask if he was dead. The nurse walked off and as Scott turned away, the patient sat up. Of course Scott did not see the patient sitting up. Scott had just enough time to reach the door when the patient attacked him. Scott yelled and thrashed around trying to get the man off of him. He swung around in circles hoping the man would fall off. He didn’t. Out of instinct Scott rammed the man into the wall a couple times. It had little effect, but it was enough where Scott was able to push the man off of him. Scott then ran out of the room.
It had not taken long for things to go from bad, to worse. When Scott reached the hallway the lights flickered off. There were many screams, and what Scott thought sounded like growls. He ran into the next trauma room to see if he could help. The hospital generator kicked on so there was some light. It was not much, but it was enough for Scott to see that everyone in the trauma room was dead. Or at least they looked dead. He was not going to assume as he had just witnessed a man rise from what Scott thought was being dead. The hallways and waiting room were pretty chaotic. Scott was able to slip past everything that was going on, though. He managed to make it outside which was no longer calm. People were running around everywhere. Scott had no idea where he was going to go, but he walked on anyways.
ROLEPLAY EXAMPLE:Even though it was a Saturday, Connor was working. He worked just about 24/7 it seemed, and spent most of his time, even his free time, in the prison. He was really dedicated to his job, as he really didn't have anything else. Most of the time Connor got abused by the inmates, especially since he wasn't as tough as the other guards. Well, he could be tough and rough and mean, but that usually came after an inmate had punched him. Connor didn't like the inmates, as he hated criminals, and that's what they were. Every now and then Connor would come across a criminal he put in jail, and the memory of the crime they did, and what Connor had to do to put them there would come across his mind, and he would get pissed again. And if the inmate saw him, and recognized him, there would be a fight. But Connor tried avoiding that. So he did his job with little emotion, unless an inmate, like they did most every day, would attack him in some way. But that Saturday was a bit different, as Connor had avoided any injury. Well, most injury. Earlier that day an inmate had decided to break free from the inmate crowd, run at Connor who was back to, and slam him into a wall. The inmate was quickly grabbed by the other guards, and Connor was able to walk away with just a scratch on his forehead, and a headache.
But that was the reason why he decided to eat in the staff kitchen. Sometimes he ate there, sometimes he didn't. Most of the time he was needed in the cafeteria though, so that's where he ate. But not wanting to get attacked again, even if it was a mild one, he decided to head into the staff kitchen to eat. "Stupid inmates. Why the hell can't they just leave me alone?" Connor mumbled to himself as he walked down the hall, and towards the staff kitchen. He had expected it to be empty, as it seemed to usually be whenever Connor had a chance to go there. But as he opened the door, he saw two woman already sitting at the table. He only had a chance to glimpse at them though, as his legs seemed to get weak for some odd reason; probably the clumsy disease he seemed to think he had. As Connor's legs collapsed, so did he. He managed to hang onto the door handle though, as he fell onto the ground. Connor growled for a moment as he used the door handle to lift himself up. Once he was done, he slowly looked at the two women. "Oh. Uh. Clumsy legs" He explained as he slowly walked past them to the refrigerator.
Once Connor got to the refrigerator, he tried to ignore the two women as he looked around for something to eat. He shuffled things around in the refrigerator, and finally was able to find a leftover salad. He had no idea who's it was, but it didn't look very old. "Well, I guess this will work" He said as he grabbed a fork, and stuck it in the salad. He wasn't a big fan of salads, but he hadn't been able to find anything that seemed to be edible. Unless he cooked something, which he didn't want to do. The salad already had dressing in it, which was why Connor figured it had already been touched. But that didn't bother him, as it was at least something to eat. Connor pulled the fork out, which carried a bunch of lettuce, and a tomato, with a bunch of whatever dressing it was, on it. Connor then stuffed it into his mouth, and began chewing it. It took him a few seconds to realize he really didn't like the salad. Connor quickly spit the salad back out into the container, and tossed the container of salad away. "That was gross" He said mainly to himself. It was then that he noticed the two women again. "Oh. Uh. Hey. I was just.. uh.. looking for something to eat. But uh, I didn't find much." He said as he wiped his mouth with his sleeve, and walked up by the table, but not sitting at it.
PLANS: I do not have any plans for him. He could live his life as a loner, or he can fit right in with a group of people.
