Bellatrixx narrowed her eyes at him. "You did what you were told to do. You chose to do so because you loved your county. Millions of other men more than likely felt the same. But, had the government never got involved in the first place, you wouldn't have had to go. It's different." She said. Then looked away."Plus, we shouldn't be judged by our past. We should be judged by who we are in the present." She mumbled.
When he said they needed to rest, she simply closed her eyes and waited for sleep to come. As her body began to relax itself, she could feel the exhaustion set in, and her body practically ached for the sleep to take control. She knew she hadn't lain there long when Haven said a woman's name. Probably his wife... Bella thought to herself before rolling over to her other side and closing her eyes again. She let her own mind travel. It went far away.
She could see horses running across the pasture. The grey one was her favorite. An arabian mare with a black spot on her nose, and black streaks of hair in her mane and tail. Healthy and beautiful. Her grandparents had lived next door to a woman named Sandra Higgs. She had a thirteen-year-old daughter at the time named Rebecca Higgs, and her two-year old brother, Henley. They'd always let Bellatrixx ride the mare. Her name was Songbird. They'd called her Song for short. She was a patient mare. Very kind yet playful. Almost like the perfect human mother. Perhaps that was why Bellatrixx had loved her so much.
Bella sighed at the memory, and a smile was swept across her face. She knew that tonight she would dream of horror mixed with normality. Something she wished she could have again. Then again, if everything returned to normal, would that change a thing? Would she change at all?
