Joshua threw himself against the door. The prison cell door barely budged. Followed by walkers, he had shut himself in the cell. Little did he know that the doors locked automatically. Rolling his shoulder, he grimaced. He was too old to be bashing down doors. He slammed his shoulder into the door again. Groaning, Joshua leaned up against the wall. The cell was small, with no windows. The structure was well built. A thick door, with a rim lock, barred any entrance and exit out of the small room. Swearing to himself, he struck the door again. It was hardly budging. Ramming himself against the door again, the door appeared to have done nothing, but he heard a crack. Joshua shoved his rifle through the crack and levered the door open.
The hallway was empty. Backing into the cell, Joshua picked up his loaded hiking pack. He kept his rifle at the ready and walked slowly down the hallway. He'd pick off any zombies before they got close to him. He poked his head around the corner. There was one walker, slowly shambling around with no direction. Joshua saw the guard post down the hall. That's where he was headed. Slowly, he slipped around the corner and grasped the prison shiv he'd picked up of the floor. The zombie had its back to him. Joshua jammed the sharpened piece of plastic into the base of the walker's head. Letting out a loud moan, the zombie collapsed, taking the shiv with it. That moan will have alerted the others. Sprinting toward the guard station, Joshua found himself slamming into a door again. Locked. ”Shit.” Joshua kicked the door, it was a lighter material, it would come down faster. Joshua looked around. He could hear moaning from down the hall, they were getting closer. Joshua looked back at the door, panicked. ”Oh fuck me.” Joshua rolled his eyes. It was a pull door. Grasping the handle, he yanked the door open and slammed it behind him, locking it. Collapsing against the door, he locked the door, hands shaking. He felt the magnetic locks jam into place. He'd be safe in here.
