Daryl stands 5 ft. 10 inches tall with dark blonde hair and piercing blue eyes. He has a medium complexion with a mole on the right side of his mouth with facial hair on his lip and chin. Above his left breast is a tattoo of his father's name, Norman, a tattoo of a dragon on inner right upper arm, tattoo of heart on right wrist, angel wings on back and a snake on left leg. Physically he has a barrel chest, broad shoulders, muscular arms and a trim waist. His legs are strong and he can run without difficulty.
Daryl is often volatile and will quickly resort to violence in threatening situations, but is still significantly more level-headed and rational than his older brother. He is an experienced tracker and hunter and is deadly accurate with his crossbow, having learned as a young boy in order to feed himself by hunting small animals in the woods surrounding his family home. He is also highly skilled with various firearms and knives. Being raised with his brother in the mountains of north Georgia by neglectful parents, he was abused by an alcoholic father and never received genuine affection. Daryl has difficulty making friends and trusting people therefore he is considered a lone wolf, although he doesn't see himself in that light. The few people he does know he keeps them at an emotional distance.

Daryl and his brother lived within the mountains of North Georgia, under the roof of their neglectful parents; their father being an alcoholic and their mother being both that and a chain-smoker. When they were both little, they lost their mother to a house fire that had been caused by her cigarette when she was asleep (or possibly drunk in bed).
It was common for Daryl and his brother to be abused by their drunken father. On his body Daryl sports several scars that he obtained from being beaten. When his brother would go to jail on occasion Daryl was left to suffer the full wrath of his father's drunken rages. Daryl learned the majority of life's lessons from his older brother.
Daryl's older brother raised him to share his beliefs and be tough like a grown man. However, he too was often absent from Daryl's life; part of that had to do with the fact that he was frequently in juvenile institutions. This led to Daryl having to frequently fend for himself.
One time during his childhood, he got lost in the woods for nine full days and lived off of wild berries and used poison oak as a substitute for toilet paper. When he managed to find his way home, neither his brother nor his father noticed his absence. He walked in through the back door and then made himself a sandwich.
Daryl often drove his older brother's motorcycle and, after dropping out of high school, found a job working on motorcycles at a shop called Hogan's Hogs. When his older brother got out of jail, being held for assault, Daryl helped hide his drug stash, that consisted of both legal and illegal drugs. Daryl never had to worry about going to a doctor when he got sick or an infection.
With his earnings Daryl bought a gray 1973 Ford F-250 pickup truck that he uses to haul his brother's motorcycle in the back. Being mechanically inclined he is able to keep both vehicles in top working order with parts that his brother shoplifts from different stores.
Daryl was living at his father's home in the mountains working on his father's car, drinking a beer and listening to the car radio when a distress signal came on. Thinking it was just a test Daryl ignored it. That was until the signal continued sounding with the male voice speaking - "This is not a test. I repeat, this is not a test. The CDC has reported that a deadly virus has been accidently released in the Atlanta area. Anyone with the following symptoms please report to your nearest medical facility: flu like symptoms, severe vomiting, high fever or convulsions. Please take this seriously. We repeat, this is not a test ..."
Daryl scratched his head in confusion. Tipping his bottle up he finished the beer and tossed the bottle into the metal garbage can that stood in the corner. Choosing to ignore it he popped in a Hank Williams CD instead. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary until he started hearing screaming. Turning off the music he listened and saw a woman running up the road screaming as she ran being pursued by what he could describe as three dead people. They brought the woman down and began eating her alive.
Jumping out of the car he ran inside. "POP!!" he called out as he searched the house for his father. "CALL THE COPS! POP! SOME WOMAN IS GETTING KILLED OUTSIDE! POP!"
Searching the house he heard strange moaning from his father's bedroom, moaning like he had never heard before. "Pop?" he questioned and opened the bedroom door and found his bedridden father looking like one of the dead people he just saw outside. Looking at him in shock his dead father rose to his feet and came at him, eyes white with death and teeth gnashing. Out of fear Daryl ran for the gun case and, pulling out a rifle, shot his dead father in the chest. His father kept coming so he aimed for the head just as his father reached for him. Pulling the trigger the dead man fell to the floor and didn't move again.
For a long time he just looked at his father's now dead body, oozing blood on the floor. He had to get as far away as he could and fast. Grabbing his crossbow, a sawed off shotgun and his father's best pistol and a black garbage bag he stuffed a bunch of his clothes into the bag and tossed it into the cab of the truck along with the weapons. Pulling the motorcycle into the back of it he tied it down and left, unsure where he was going. The three people were still huddle around the now nearly devoured woman. Pulling out the CD he listened more intently to the warning on the radio.
Deciding it would be better to head into the country away from the city he did just that, choosing to hide in the woods where he felt more comfortable. The further away he was from people the better he liked it. People had let him down before and he still didn't trust any of them. Beside, he had survived in the woods before and he was sure he could still survive even now.
ROLEPLAY EXAMPLE:The fire spread through the city burning up everything. There was no stopping it. And when the water mains were broken because of a series of earthquakes there was no water to fight the fire. People panicked. Millions died. The freeways and roads leading out of the city were grid locked. No one was moving anywhere. More earthquakes caused the overpasses to collapse killing millions more died.
In the subsequent months as people tried to understand what happened and realized their world would never be the same disease spread through the masses. John recognized that there was only so much he could do for people and chose to focus on his family.
The first night during the fires he somehow managed to get Anne and John Jr. out of the city and further south to where his parents lived in Valdosta, Georgia. The small town, although suffering devastation, fared better than the cities. Henry and Alice Holliday kept a small garden along with a small herd of cattle, pigs and chickens. The neighbors reached out and helped to feed each other and, the small community became an even smaller but closer knit community and they were thriving.
Then the government stepped in and introduced something called "Project Genesis" where they were all gathered together like cattle and began to getsiftedinto groups. Believing he would be with his wife and son John was shocked when he was told that, because of he was a surgeon he would be chosen for the breeding project but his wife and son would betaken to a better place.
This sounded to closely to the holocausts he'd heard about over the years where people were eliminated simply because of their religion or ethnic group or a number of other ridiculous reasons people thought of and utilized for their own supposed benefit. When they were taken away he heard his son call for him so he fought to get them. He realized he'd made a mistake trusting the government. Fighting to get to them something stuck him in his hip and he blacked out waking up in a jail cell somewhere. He wasn't even sure where he was but he was never angrier in his life.
Days later he was transferred to some facility where, he was informed, he would be found a suitable number of appropriate females to procreate with and pass on his genes.
He did not know where he was or what the future held nor did he know if his family was alive or if he would ever see them again. He only knew one thing, he would not be a guinea pig to a government whose only purpose seemed to be to control.
Can he resist the women being thrown at him? Will he see his wife and son again? What does the future hold? ONLY GOD ONLY KNOWS
PLANS: What's going to happen with your character? Perhaps Daryl will fall in with a group of survivors as they will all figure out that the longer they banded together the better were their chances of survival
ANYTHING ELSE?: Daryl has been mistreated so badly as a child he trusts very few people but, deep inside, he actually longs for security and acceptance.ABOUT THE AUTHOREastern Zone
GO BY: Well, I guess Seth.
ROLEPLAY LEVEL: I am probably intermediate with flashes of advanced now and again. I belong to a Star Trek site that is for advanced and requires you to post 250 words so I figure 300 won't be too difficult. I hope.
